That is literally right around the corner from my house. Awesome!
DF, that backhanded smack at Bonzo and his beer was unprovoked and uncalled for. take it back.
No smack at all, I know he has exquisite taste in women and simple tastes in beer.

Never had a bad meal at A.W. Shucks. My favorite place to eat seafood other than my own catch.

I think so
I’m starting a file on him
Helloooooo, it was a compliment. If you like simple beer that is good. More good, I mean real, no uh other kind of beer for me.

Okay, I’ll break it down. Beautiful wife (good taste in the ladies), so-so taste in beer. But, if you are going to excel in one of those two areas, you excel in the right one. After all, one can always improve their BeerQ if they desire to do so.
Oh, and we ate at the Green Goat Thursday night as it was just down from our hotel and got good reviews on the web. My son had a goat cheese burger that he said was the best burger he had ever had. I don’t know how he could tell the way he “hoovered” it down. I had chicken & dumplings that were very good. My wife had grilled shrimp that were a tad over-cooked, okra/tomatoes which she said were wonderful and some very good butter beans. Check it out if you are near it. They had a small but nice beer selection. Not sure if they had your brand Carl.

It would be an honor and a pleasure. Maybe some of that Bonzo wisdom might rub off. I know Connor would love it.

But you might not get in being this is Wed and you eat on Thur… so maybe Slightly North of Broad… usually can get in there.
Glass Onion? or BBQ next to it? both on 17
Agree about Hanks, excellent for seafood. Cant say the same for Hall’s. Have been there half a dozen times, mostly as a guest of others, and would consider it one of the most overpriced restaurants downtown. Have been dissapointed with the meal there more than once, at at those prices that’s a big NO NO. Have heard the same from others, hit or miss. And the family that runs it has a reputation as way creepy.
X2 on Hall’s. Been there twice, and they burnt my steak once and took forever to bring me another. Ruined the whole occasion. Then you leave with a huge hole in your wallet. Wife said for what her’s cost and what she got she doesnt care to go back. Know the dad in real life, and strange folk is a huge understatement. Charleston Grill or Peninsula is tops in town IMO.
I recommend Paige’s Okra Grill all the time. Love their shrimp and grits, they make their own hamburger from fresh cut beef, the chicken fried steak is enough for 2 meals. Only thing I don’t like is their french fries, everything else is good old family cooking.
Come down in October when they do Oktoberfest cooking. Yum.
