Come June 1st you can fish for Black Sea Bass, odds are SCDNR will change the per person keep limit to 5, no longer being 15.

Per the SCDNR they are in the midst of a ten year rebuilding plan for Sea Bass. It would be to easy for them to pass this new rule when the fishery opens back up.

Yea…good point cane pole…like piggybacking on a bill for passage…old technique…Perhaps I have lost track of regs and I am probably wrong… I thought BSB’S were 12"/10 per? Anyway I dont target until JAN/Feb

jan/feb???

they are only open june 1st till dec31st…

Thank You GR…let me rephrase…use to target Jan/Feb…only because bigger ones moved in to closer reefs then…not quite big enough to vary out past 7/8 miles…guess will have drop back and punt on BSB’S…man am going to miss that

SAFMC may be changing the limits, i dont think SCDNR is the culprit

SP you are correct, DNR just enforces it.

To easy for them just to say 5 per person when the ban lifts.

it has already been announced from the SAFMC that we will go from a bag limit of 15 to 5 when they reopen in June. the SCDNR reciprocates with the feds on limits and closures.
