Plan the tackle box for a newbie

Helping a guy get set up for nearshore/offshore stuff.

Help plan the list…boat is 23ft cc will be used in and around harbor / nearshore and some offshore when weather is perfect.

Pretty good on combos: 4 Okuma/ 50w /3 Tld 25s /4 Penn 330gti / other assorted spinning gear.

Just helping him stock up on lures tackle etc.

Offshore = sea witches / islanders / cedar plugs

Nearshore = trolling spoons / king busters / Carolina rigs etc for bottom

What am I missing?

Also if anybody has some of this laying around let
Me know

Get some butterfly and knife jigs for bottom fishing. Get a range from 2oz to 8oz depending how deep your fishing. Personally the biggest thing you need to stock up on is your terminal tackle. Lots of hooks (multiple sizes), swivels, weights. Also I have had some great luck having a sabiki rig or 2 ready for some nice live bait. I fish out of a 22ft cc and have run as far as 70 miles. Lots of opportunities out there. Get yourself a Maps Unique chart for Charleston. Where are you going to be launching out of?

Good call on the jigs…I fish out of everywhere. He will be out of Edisto .

Just looking for actual go to s for kings/cobia…bottom fishing…and trolling

You included Carolina rigs on your list, but be sure to add chicken rigs as well. You can buy them pre-made, or you can make them yourself. Good luck.
