Yes. 597ci HD DI. I had marked this bridge with my old Garmin, but wrote it off as trees. But I could not account for the arch on the old bottom machine. No I know the rest of the story.

Was this on Lake Murray?
What is that at the top of the DI view? Buoy?
I ordered this same unit 2 days ago, cant wait to get it on the boat.
I wanted to side scan the bridge this weekend but the water was too rough. Could you send me the gps numbers to it so I can make sure mine are correct?

Yes Lake Murray.
Yes it is a buoy. You can see the chains/cables going up to the buoy.
Look for a white marker between Spence and Doolittle in the channel. No markings on the buoy. Best pics bace going north/south the way the road ran from Chapin to Lexington.

You may not be familiar with LakeMaster or their Contour Elite software since they don’t currently have a map for Lake Murray but its pretty awesome stuff. Check it out here: http://www.lakemap.com/ and while you’re there request they add Lake Murray to their inventory…

The unit I purchased came with Hotspots Premium. It is great with a lot of detail. The display is very easy to read in direct sunlight.

Awesome! Have any of you installed this unit on the bow of the boat, trolling motor transducer? Or anyone knows if there will be issues re. RF interferences with the TM? Do I need a TM transducer, or the transom transducer that comes with the unit is good enough provided a TM clamp is used? Any tips for trolling motor mounting?
I know I adjust the depth of my trolling motor fairly frequently when casting my net for bait. I wouldn’t want to have to adjust the setting on the fishfinder each time I raise or lower the depth of the trolling motor.

Woody,
I can’t imagine that you raise or lower your trolling motor more than 3 feet. I also cannot imagine a situation when striper fishing, that a 3 foot difference in indicated depth would be critical. If you are fishing down rods, simply watch your bait go down to whatever depth you are seeing the fish.

I agree with what you’re saying, its probably no big deal…I just know that with the transducer mounted on my transom, its set it and forget it… A transducer mounted on my trolling motor would be one more cord up front to deal with and the front of the boat moves up and down a lot more than the back of the boat. I personally would prefer a transom mounted transducer. I guess I’m not clear if Jogmd is talking about a secondary fishfinder or if it would be his primary unit. If its his primary unit, then definitely transom mounted…

Thanks for the ideas guys. This will be a second FF. I have an HDS 5 on the console. I just installed this unit today, not too difficult to my surprise. I will test it tomorrow. Can you share best settings for the unit? Thanks again!
