Did anyone else who leases with Plum Creek (formerly Westvaco) see a huge increase in their lease price for this year? Our rate increased by 15%.
I think my father said that their’s increased, though I am not sure by how much.

Yep, looks like this will be my last year hunting plum creek property. They cleared every tree from our club and now are going to sky rocket the lease.
They sent a notice last month that they are thinning half of our club this year. Then we got the notice saying the lease price will go up 30% over the next 2 years. We didn’t budget for this big of a price increase, as it usually only goes up around $50-$100 per year. This is really going to hurt our club this year and I’m not sure what we’ll do for next year.
jws, is it a dog club or still hunting club.I know when we cut timber on our property, years 2-5 after the cut were the best we’ve had for still hunting.

Its both, but I don’t plan on paying an astronomical lease price waiting on the dang woods to grow back. Half of our club is wide open dirt right now.
