I have never run over to cummings point from the main shipping channel. Is there any areas i need to be careful around?

All depends on the tide, high tide no worries, at low it can get really shallow between the range light and Ft. Sumter. Go a little past the light and then turn towards Morris. There’s a pocket of deeper water right off the back side, that’s a good place to start looking. Stay close to the island and watch the depth and you’ll be fine - there is a sandbar kind of in the middle of the inlet. keep an eye on your chart and depth, don’t go too fast, and you shouldn’t have any trouble.
