I had a feeling this was going to happen… People will be going on others property, and someone’s going to get gauged one day for trespassing…

I haven’t played Pokemon Go or actual pokemon but the technology is very interesting. It actually opens up the gaming world to a new type of game that could transcend the standard gaming community. GPSRPG or GeocacheRPG? It’s probably been branded something already. I’ve only looked at it during lunch with a coworker and it could have some very interesting applications. Its basically a virtual geocache where you collect pokemon, then you fight/train them like the original card/video games.

IMO this could be a catalyst for Virtual Reality gaming and could provide some nice investment opportunities. You could very easily replace pokemon with guns, knives, clothes, shoes, athletes, celebrities, cars, planes, jewelry, etc and make a similar game. Use anything collectible or that interest people. Imagine a NCAA/fantasy football game where you actually go to a location and try to recruit an athlete that you found? For pro football maybe you can find the free agents in your area. You could even sync your phone to your console/PC and add some VR and real life applications to your game. Lots of sport games have “make a player” options. You could have facial/object recognition built into the app and it could make you show yourself on the camera kicking a ball or GPS monitored running sprints to train your character. Different difficulties levels of the game making this an actual training program. It could combine what Nintendo Wii or Xbox Kinect do with what Fitbit and Garmin Connect do. The games would be more attractive for parents to buy since it could increase kids (or their own) activity levels. Maybe a fashion app partnered with retailers where you find virtual clothes and it give you a fashion rating, tells you where you can buy it, allow you to share it on social media, etc. The fashion app could even give you a “shop at home” VR experience so you can find what you want to buy at home.

Parents/Users, be sure to watch that data usage though!!! Hopefully this will push a GPS tech upgrade

It was great passing the statehouse today. They were having an angry black unity event on the statehouse stairs with pretty serious security - barricades, lots of cops walking around in vests, just plain lot of armed cops. Pretty tense event, yet all these young millenials wandering among them staring at their cellphones, ignoring barricades, speakers, protesters, etc. Palest of the pale young whites. Really turned it into a farce!
Supposedly had five hundred players at the statehouse last night.

Man, that wasn’t tense. Tense was last year’s rally, Black panthers, klansmen, THAT is tense. There were more LEOs there than participants. The organizers were saying 5,000 would attend. Barely 100 showed up. The afternoon rally was canceled.
