Bad news. over 7600 players. Only 1182 are paid. I went out in 1212. 30 from the money.

If you ever get the pleasure of meeting Ray, you will understand that there’s not much that he’s “worse” at.

I’ve met Ray plenty of times buddy. I’ve helped him trail gut shot deer, pulled him out of the mud, walked his property with him and told him my thoughts on hunting it. And he can probably verify I’m just as big of a smartass in person as I am behind this keyboard.

While still hunting and poker require a level of skill , both have the element of chance. In poker its called “the luck of the draw” In hunting its similar - the deer has to show up !

At least I won about $4k at the crap table

This will be my final update on WSOP poker. On the 2nd hand of the 3rd day I was dealt 77. There was a rasie and then another guy re-raised. I correctly folded. However, if the second guy had not re-raised I would have had a full house and won over 300,000 chips and been near the chip lead. A frind that is still in the tourn and is in 4th place had the same amount of chips as I had to start day 3. The slight edge principle strikes again. I’ll be thinking of that hand for a long time to come.

Here is the final final. My friend, Tony Miles, came in 2nd for $5 million!!!
His total winnings before this were $59k. He is 29. Imagine how this will change his life. AND he is a nice guy.

I’ve seen several young men come into big money, sadly many let it ruin them. Being a nice guy and getting a lot of money can be a very trying time for all the free loaders looking for a free ride. All that said congratulations for your friend!

Go ahead and give the government theirs, put some in a trust fund, hire a good investment broker to keep Uncle Sam off as much as you can and live the good life! Invested properly and put to work, your friend should be able to do quit well for himself! :sunglasses:

Fred this youg man seems to be well grounded. You advice is close to mine. Knowing poker players, my advice was to set aside $1M for his poker bankroll. Spend about $500k on wants. Invest the remainder.
