The past two weekends have been hectic for me to say the least, but they have been great at the same time. This report is two different trips compiled into one report.
Two weekends ago I get a call from some of my great friends in Ft.Lauderdale and find out that Team Reel Therapy(Us) is fishing the Pompano Beach Saltwater Shootout, this would be the first time I would miss a tournament, but with no funds and a 9 hour drive ahead of me I reluctantly told them I couldnt fish this one. I got a call back and the team decided that they were going to pay my way and split the costs so that I could fish with them, that is what I call true friends and never expected it. I decided that I would kill two birds with one stone and also spend mothers day with my the mom. With my girlfriend heading out of town to visit her family I loaded up the dog and the truck and made the drive down. It was a single day tournament and was loaded with 138 boats from every state across the South, this was the first year for it being an SKA event and the big guns showed up. Team Hard Way ended up winning with 217.5 pounds of fish and personal friends of ours, Team Get Sum came in a close second with 216.8 pounds. Big King was 58.3 pounds and big Blackfin was 36.something pounds. Team Reel Therapy ended up weighing in 83.9 pounds of Kings and came in 30th place…it was an awesome weekend and great to get back out with friends.
