The other day I was down at Roper and was looking across Calhoun Street, and saw a pond behind some office buildings. The pond runs along Lockwood and Calhoun. What I was wondering what kind of fish can you catch out of the pond. thanks for any help
If it’s the pond that I’m thinking of, the water comes in from the Ashley/Harbor so you should be able to catch reds/flounder or whatever is in there.I have never fished it but have seen a lot of people fishing there off of the little dock.
Double D.
thankyou for your input.
Try shrimp, blue crab, and finger Mullet. I think you’d be pleasantly surprised. Good for a windy day

I was down at Roper today, and saw a group of people fishing that pond. If that pond had any fish in it, it is cleaned out now. They were flat catching some fish. Looked like some mullet coming out of that pond.
A guy last year caught a red from his couch, in a pond behind his house. Daniel Island I believe?

This year, same guy weighed in a 25 Inch trout in a tournament, photo shows he was standing on Mud/sand. Couldn’t possibly be the same pond could it? (also weighed in a 23.75 inch trout. 2 gators in the same day, WOW) http://www.lowcountryfishscales.com/2013/LifePoint13/LifePoint13_Pics/LifePoint13_Pics1.htm
Saltwater ponds do hold fish, If I had a pond like that in my back yard i’d sell my boat! LOL
Ask some old Charlestonians, I bet that is left from the old marina and has pipes under Lockwood bringing fish, crabs, and shrimp.
