Ponder on this....

Is it worst to not catch fish or lose a big fish? I’m leaning towards the lost fish. I hate to lose fish.

Losing the big ones hurt bad. Alot more than not catching IMO.

I’d rather catch and lose it than not catch at all. At least you learn something when you lose one.

I’m with 16bayfisher, if you never caught anything, how would you know if you’re doing it right? If you lost a coulple big ones, you could “learn” and adapt. I lost a MONSTER Bull Red back in the fall from a broken hook. Lesson?..3x hooks…Solved.

There are things to be learned when you don’t catch fish or get bit. Believe me, I’ve had a lot of these kinds of learning experiences. But what I learn is things like I’m in the wrong place, using the wrong technique, its the wrong time of day, etc. Whatever the case may be, I learned that next time I go I need to try something a little different. It all goes into the memory bank (fishing log, because my memory isn’t what it used to be) for future reference.

All that being said, to me it definitely feels worse to lose a fish.

Now where did I put my fishing pole?

.

-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad
-Until you have loved a dog, part of your soul remains unawakened. Anatole France (paraphrased)
-RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.

The worst, is hooking something BIG and losing it and not even seeing what it was!

When you catch nothing you have no idea what was w.

NOT catching much, much worse…

I have never believed this saying. Maybe it comes with age.

Losing a big one at the boat sucks, they get bigger every time you think about it…Usually it’s one little thing that could have been done and you never forget.

Thats a toss up. But having you friend lose the biggest fish of the day because “YOUR” crimp failed is bad:frowning_face:

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

What if you were disfigured from birth and you felt like nobody ever loved you or could ever love you? Your parents abandoned you at birth, you have no family that you know about, no woman ever takes interest in you, and you skirt through life thinking you are the only one that cares about you.

Still don’t believe?
