pontoon hardtop

I know this is not the right place but also know more people check this forum.

Has anyone put a hardtop on a pontoon? Or know someone that does that kinda work?
I’m interested in what it would take and how much it would cost to convert the Bimini top to a hardtop

I’ve actually done a few. The legs just bolt down to the floor and to the rails on the sides. The most complicated part is usually wiring the anchor light on the top and any lighting or accesories you wish to add. Pontoons are super easy to work on, especially when you can take it off the trailer and sit them on the ground.

Tigerfin,
Where do you get the top from? Or do you make it?

The ones I did were all OE. Used to work for a Harris Kayot and Bennington dealer. They were ordered from the factory. Aftermarket ones would be very similar, though. The main thing you need to know is the width of your deck. Some boats are 8’ wide on center of the tubes and some are 8 1/2’. I would try to find one aftermarket before I tried to build one.

Is there any after market you recommend

BTW, I’m looking for the type that you can stand on top of.

Sun tops aren’t something most manufacturers are going to sell aftermarket. There is too much possibility of lawsuit and injury. If the boat has 25" tubes it’ll probably handle the weight ok, but you’re probably going to have to have someone build it. You might want to get with Happy Bob and see if it’s something he wants to take on or give you some advice on.

Thanks tigerfin. I’m not sure what toons are on there but I know they are not round, but oval(i guess).
