pontoons in the harbor?

anyone ever see one? i wonder how they would handle the wake from the cargo ships?

Probably handle one as good as a flats boat.

Isn’t the MtP water taxi a poontoon?
They are out there in all sorts of weather.

I used to take my 16’ skiff to the reefs on nice days. I would have more faith in a good pontoon than I would with a skiff.

Wish I had a triton, Awsom boat, rode in a 30’ with a F250 and never slowed down in 3’ whitecaps on Santee, man what a smooth ride! That third pontoon sure makes a difference.

jws…I resemble that comment. My boat hates those things almost as much as I do.

Slow down and turn into it unless you can get ahead of them and scoot across the bow.

Saw one once trying to go out through the jetties. Typical washing machine action with 3 footers. Waves would crash over the bow and roll down the deck to the stern. Coolers and gear were floating all over the awashed decks. Those guys were determined to get offshore somewhere. We hammered the throttles and got out of there before we witnessed an accident at sea.
