Everyone says DOA, what color works best. Anything else work? Like live bait or gulp?

You can’t go wrong with live shrimp, finger mullet or a quartered blue crab. Most of all, though, location, location, location!

Sometimes anything you throw at em will work and sometimes nothing you throw at em will work, but if you ain’t where the fish are I guarantee you that nothing will work.

Yea i believe that. Being totally new to saltwater fishing and hearing here even the pros sayin it hasnt been excellent of late I am gonna need all the help I can get

yeah stick with what tigerfin said. This has been a slow, rough season. Most of the reports I’ve seen that were successful were done on fresh, live bait or fresh cut bait.

As for the DOA shrimp, don’t overfocus on the exact color. Have a couple dark, and a couple light colors. In dark stained water, use the dark. In lighter water, use the lighter. I usually go with 1 natural light and dark color, and 1 green light and dark color.

Wonder how long a mudminnow would take being snatched around behind a poppn cork. One way to find out I suppose

Mud minnows probably last longer than anything.

You can drag a mud minnow for 20 miles behind your truck and it’s still kicking :smiley:

I still have trouble tying a loop knot to a DOA shrimp, what kind of loop knots does everyone use?

Will that know work with braid?

Thanks Jeff, that will make my knot tying easier. Sniper, you shouldn’t have to make a loop with braid. The bait should move freely with braid tied directly to it.
