We caught a few of these gems this Saturday. Only had a 30# boga to weigh with and it had no problem bottoming that scale out. Hopefully one day we can keep them and get an official weight

That is a big ARS. They should make an exception for that fish. May have had to pay a fine just to be able to weigh it.

You couldn’t have recorded and entered it anyway, with the season being closed! That is a bigun! I would have been tempted to say(the hell with it) and taken my chances on going home with it for dinner! At least you got pictures of it, that no one can contest!

12-54 years... Unfortunately, you cannot tell by the size. They tend to max out in size and then just get older.

I saw one about that size when I was a kid, around 1968 or 1969. A guy that lived close to us had gone deep sea fishing and he had a red snapper that was as big as his car trunk. It kinda warped my idea of how big a red snapper was supposed to be for many years.

Wow! That’s a huge snapper!
I remember going to Panama City on overnight bottom fishing trips and them being caught that big. But that was 35 years ago when I was a mere youngster!
