Two days after this front has been slow. Lots of light pick up and drops having to set the hook fast for any success.
Ran into a guy and talked for a while and it seems like post front they want mud minnows. I was throwing TRDs, Swimming trout tricks, Zman shrimpz and slow as I watched him pull in 3 18" trout on mud minnows. Might be worth bringing a dozen and lip hook’em with a light jig head.
Took my buddy yesterday and his GF 9 year old and it was a rough go. 2 Flounder and 6 trout over 4 hours. I literally think I missed more fish than I caught. Rough…
Try a smaller profile. The slim slims where the bait to have early in the week.
Good call I was cutting the swimming trout tricks in half last weekend and dramatically increased the catch rate. I do have the slim swims and probably should start breaking them out!
40 inchreds how would StreakZ 3.75" work ? It is a little larger than slim slims if i can remember.
But much smaller than other Z-Man items.

I have the streakz, in nearly the same color(blue back herring) as the slim swims I was using (mood ring) and got nothing. I worked the bait in clear water and it has like no action and I think they suck. Both places I went to had every thing but the small slim swims in mood ring. We to PSA which is a very nice store with nice employees. I got the 3 INCH SLIM SWIMS IN THE DEAL. I went in the kayak and punished the trout today. Caught 30 plus with a couple of 17 being the big guys and missed probably 30 hits. 1/16 oz jig head worked slow. I even caught a few trolling from spot to spot with them. I even had a double hook up trolling out the yak but lost 1 because of fighting the other.
The deal seems to color change as it seemed darker when it got darker.
I have buddies that swear by the Streakz 3.75. The trick with them is not to jerk or work the rod tip up but to jerk it down toward the water with a trout eye jig head to pop it off the bottom and it will turn as it lands. The trout will strike if when it hit bottom. I have not had a lot of luck with them but watch a buddy catch fish on one almost all day. I am a fan of the slim swims. I just ordered some ned lock 1/15 which are the tiny heads which I have not found in stores around only online. I am gonna try that after the Holidays when I get back.
