I left the dock at 5 on Friday and was back by 6:30. Bumpy and wet wasn’t in my forecast so I turned around. Saw around 10 boats heading SE , they must have been much tougher than me or much better riding boats.

We were you, just 2 hours later. And not wet, but too much of a beating, or too slow for avoiding a beating. Saw several others pressing on at 15mi where we tucked tail, but I sure saw a lot of their hulls so I guess they’re a lot younger. Or more determined.

We waited for the seas to calm a little and bottom bumped on Saturday. The heat got to us and we called no joy at 2pm. Easy ride home.

We went later (iop dock at 830) and took some bumps early. started trolling a little before 11am at Edisto Banks. Slow for us but understand others did great. Caught 2 good dolphin and missed one bite. Laid down coming in and did 32 knots. Caught them in around 200 feet. Wanted to go deeper but there were just too many weeds and it became a job so came in - caught fish and came back safe so great day even though not as busy as I wanted.

I’m with you Cat, had to work this weekend so I’ll have to live vicariously through others.

Headed out Saturday from Edisto. Went south toward Hunting Island. Bottom fished and caught shark and a small Cobia. Chased Spanish for the rest of the afternoon. Kids had a blast bringing them in.

Left Remleys at 4am Saturday. We knew it was going to be a slow run towards 226 Hole and it was! But, it calmed down later and we managed to put 7 dolphin in the boat with a couple of decent fish. We had 2-3 short fish and several short strikes. We pulled skirted ballyhoo. It was hot and slow, like most everyone else. We played with some small dolphin on a few weed mats, which was fun for the family.

Left out of Edisto around 5. Started at the banks and trolled out to 400ft. Caught a couple smaller fish around 300, got a double header with a couple decent ones at 350, and 1 more at 400. Ended up with 5 dolphin and an assortment of bottom fish.
