Great day at the beach Pompano can be fun. Several years ago mid 90s I was catching them in surf at folly. Haven’t seen any since. Any reports of pompano around Chas?

We used to catch a lot of them around Savannah, not very often anymore. Heard some recent reports of a few caught at Jekyll Island.

A shad jig is a teardrop shaped lead jig 1oz. That they sell at the local tackle shop. The ones I use are white with Mylar tape that comes off after about 2 casts followed by a gold treble hook.
We have a beach house right by Emerald Isle and the fishing is always going strong there! Especially the flounder!

Need to find a beach that hasn’t been renourished in the past 10 years. Gotta have a lot of mole crabs.
That beach is loaded with mole crabs and has a kickass slough on both sides of the bar.
