Power issue on engine

having bad fuel on only one tank, while possible, is rather unlikely.

If I’m posting, its because I’m sitting here at work, dreaming about fishing.

When you swap out that fuel/water separator…dump it in a clear mason jar and see what you have…If there is a but load of water in that baby you can rest assured that’s what you problem is…

Its possible the other separator is not quite but maybe on the brink of doing the same thing…

also drain your VST into a mason jar and take a look.

I DIDNT READ ALL THE RESPONSES SO…
I WILL ALMOST GAURANTEE YOU NEED A FUEL SYSTEM CLEAN, AND NOW YOU HAVE DIRTIED YOUR FRIENDS INJECTORS AS WELL.
IF YOU WANT TO BE SURE, TAKE THE COWLING OFF, RUN IT WOT UNDER WAY, AND SPRAY SOME STARTING FLUID AT TEH INTAKE.
MOTOR WILL IMMEDIATELY PICK UP RPMS.

How is a fuel system clean done? I would just bring it to you, but I do not own a trailer so the mechanics at the marina are working on it.

I can come to your private retreat and do it for you but the price is high:
  1. A spool of white bread
  2. You gots to serve Pod and leadenwahboy dinner on the dock
  3. Invite Bonzo over and referee the cat fight

and video it.

That being said(sound familiar), get a couple of cans of B-12 Chemtrol from Wally World and disconnect the fuel line and stick it in the bottle and pump the bulb with the engine running. QUICK WAY

The long way is remove the fuel filter at the vst tank and fill the tank and drain till clear.

Or take off the intake manifold and remove the vst tank and open it up…change the pump while your in there.

The injectors can be cleaned by a shop…unless you got access to a sonic cleaner.

I would suggest you drain the vst tank first. They accumulate water…just from condensation…

I have an ultrasonic cleaner you could borrow if you go that route.

Can you put Pods' thong in there as well? That should break up any crud in those injectors.

The crud that comes out of the thong will just clog them up on its own, won’t it?

this thread is about skinnee gunking up his friend’s injectors.

that sounds expensive.

i bet they tell you your synthetic bow light fluid is low, and it requires a special left handed torque driver to fix it.

Why would I not wear my own thong? The one I wash the boat in… Wearing someone else’s does not sound very sanitary, now does it?

I think some of the shops have loaner trailers for just such situations.

I would imagine the funk in that day glow green thong would break up any corrosion… Hopefully not dissolving the injector metal as well.
He’s gonna need it cleaned for the hot tub party at Bonzos.

Gotta have a good friend to let you pull injectors and use them…

Had an older Catamaran with 130 Honda’s on it and one engine kept having fuel issues. (separate fuel tanks) Found it to be the vent tube picking up water under way. Did not have a “drip” loop in it. Mild water intrusion is a bit harder to detect if using Ethanol blended fuels, but even mild water intrusion will play hell@ on injectors. Ethanols nature is to blend with water rather than pure Gas which does not mix with water.

Best of luck in fixing your problem Skinnj! Prime Gold time!

I’m sure Chris could tell you your fuel condition with a sample.
