I am looking at purchasing a 22’ scout winyah bay. I wanted to get some opinions on this bay boat. Also, I was wanting to add a Power Pole to it and didn’t know the cost for this. I see the power poles are roughly $1300, but not sure how much for the bracket to mount to the jack plate and installation. Thanks for the help.
When you order your Winyah, order the Power Pole bracket that Scout offers. Then the pole mounts directly to that. Or just order the pole with the Winyah and it will come installed. If your buying new that is.

I am wanting to mount it to the jack plate. Any reason not to?
How do you like your winyah. How does it ride in the ocean? Do you fish near shore wrecks with it?
I don’t believe you can mount it on the jack plate. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it to some near shore wrecks, but I haven’t. It does really well in rough water for a bay boat.

They make adapter plates for that type of mounting.

I had a 20 BayScout and you could not mount it on the transom. PP, made a bracket that went in between your jack plate and the transom. Might be different on a 22 Winyah though.
