Power-pole?

Who locally has the best price on the 8ft. Pro model?

dixie demon…

I have a poling skiff with a stern platform and my 8’ model doesn’t stick up above the platform. Here are the actual measurements of the total length of the power poles folded or not deployed.
“The power pole 8’ foot is 55 inches tall and the 6’ foot is 44 inches tall.” Quote from the manufact.

AGAIN…DO NOT WASTE TIME WITH THE 6’…PRICE DIFFERENCE IS NOT SIGNIFICANT. MOST PEOPLE THAT GET THE 6’ WISH THEY HAD THE 8’ER.

depends where you fish majority of the time too and if you have a poling skiff you do not want the powerpole to stick up over you platform.

From reds to marlin you got it.

P-K,

I guess all poling platforms are a little different in heighth, but my falls an inch or two below. I also use mine in 3’ or less most of the time too, but it is helpful in that 6-8’ of water too.

ONE PP OWNER TO THE NEXT, THEY ARE BAD A$$
…and I feel very good about my purchase.

You mentioned trolling motor…I have always been a foot control person for over 20 years, until I broke bad and bought a minnkota autopilot saltwater series with the key fob co-pilot. This is also an expensive item, but if you think you like the powerpole, the autopilot trolling motors are unbelievable. The first few months I used the ap, i had a perma-grin each time I fished. It takes some of the stress off an angler in tough conditions. I will never buy another trolling motor that is not an autopilot. In heavy current, wind, etc., the autopilot keeps you on track. Don’t waste time on the copilot motors without the autopilot option. Just my opinion, but from experience.

I believe the price is controlled by the manu., but I really don’t know for sure. I would buy from the dealer you plan on getting them to install if you don’t do yourself. Especially if you are using the motor bracket. There are a bunch of different bracket pieces and they will know which ones you need. Again, if you mount to the motor. Mine is on the transom, because it works for my boat. The price breaks will come from installation probably. But what do I know.

Get one!!!Chris V has a great price from what I hear.

I got a Scout on order and there putting there own transom bracket that they use for their boats and power poles. I’m gonna put it on myself, just trying to save a little money.

Looks like alot of good ■■■■■■■■ for you… i will throw my 2 cents as well though. I have a 6’ and wish i had an 8’. Although i am pretty sure it would not fit under my poling platform, simply from where it is mounted. (from the motor mount) Not sure if it’s anything to be concerned about but my motor mount flexes in decent current and wind. Also, if you have the cash to do so, get 2 of them. I find myself putting the pole down and then stabbing the push pole down and tying that off to the front cleat to keep the boat from swinging in the wind. Overall, they are awesome and the only negative comments i’ve heard are from folks that dont have one.

we can sell at any price we want, we can not advertise below MAP

I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com

P-K, please elaborate.

You have to remove the engine to intall the mount. The engine is usually in place with 5200. Try it and tell us how easy it is.
Easier to drill holes in the transom and seal/mount with the Power Pole with 5200. Works for the engine, why not the Power Pole?

The engine mount version is not as stable as bolting straight to the transom. They wobble and break at times. The transom is secure enough for the engine, …

The only reason to use one of those engine mounts for a Power Pole is if you do not have a flat/vertical surface for a transom.

Do you have anything to back up your claim about the engine mount breaking? They do wobble a little but they are a whole lot stronger since a majority of boat builders make the center of the transom the strongest part. Taking a motor off is not that hard seeing how we do it everyday.

From reds to marlin you got it.

Also powerpole makes brackets that mount to the transom for boats that do not have vertical transoms. Your a “johnny do it yourself guy” and you are telling two guys who actually install these things all the time we are wrong? Do you know how transom are typically built?
