Hello all, trying to get my new boat rigged for fishing . i will be using a Vest 20 gal. Super Tank . Is it best to run it off a seperate battery. If so would a deep cycle be best. Thanks.
I have my bait tank right in front of my console and run a trolling motor plug into the console to a separate deep cycle battery. I also put my trolling motor batteries under the console so I can hook up my 3 bank charger to make things easier.

I use the same deep cycle battery that I do for my accessories (radio, fish finder). I have separate batteries for my trolling motor(deep cycle) & cranking motor.

I have 5 batteries. One battery is dedicated to my bait tank. Another is dedicated to cranking. A third is dedicated to house loads which is primarily my sonar. 2 AGM batteries for the trolling motor. A 3 bank charger is connected to the trolling motor batteries and the house battery. I use a shore charger (home charger) to charge the bait tank battery. May be overkill, but a dead battery ruins my day.

I do like Bowhunter but I use a lawnmower battery for my bait tank! Walmart $20.00 still using the one I bought in 2013! I charge it when I finish fishing every time! Use it at least twice a week!
