Hey guys
So I have a PowerPole brand shallow water anchor. Very little use installed
in 2017. If you touch it anywhere
You end up with fiberglass shards in your hand or any other body part that
Comes in contact. Does anyone have a fix to this? Thought about sanding
Then a epoxy or clear lacquer…???
Or just replace the spud. But feel sure it will happen again unless something
Changed in manufacturing.
Oh yes there’s nothing nice about touching the fiberglass . I had the same thoughts about putting a coating on it. But I don’t think that would work with all the flexing. Just don’t touch it.
I am fragile.
Not like a flower.
But like a bomb.
Yeah Off The Chain I try not to but its the kids at the sandbar or when washing the boat that is the biggest problem. I thought about it cracking under the flex as well. Maybe I will try using some of that FlexSeal spray. As seen on TV its the best thing since sliced bread.
Working hard to play harder!!!
Call power pole. They’ll replace the spike under warranty. I just got mine in the mail last week. They also make a sleeve that heat shrinks over the pole to help keep that from happening. I got one of those too but haven’t installed either yet.
Thanks Low Country!!! I wouldn’t have thought it was covered under warranty but very glad to hear it is!
I will be getting one of those sleeves as well. Great info and thanks again for you help!

Surprised they don’t use carbon fiber, Kevlar or something else. Fiberglass always seems to do that if not covered with something else.
