From scducks.com:
Back in February I posted the story of a coworker of mine who found out their son had alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma cancer on his face.
They were doing chemo treatments for several weeks and things seemed to be improving, but the cancer started growing again rapidly. They received the results that it was growing again on 4/27 and left the next day to drive to MD Anderson in Houston to start different chemo drugs and radiation. While there on one of his scans the doctors noticed a lymph node that looked odd, they did surgery to remove it and sent off for tests. They found out yesterday that it came back cancerous and will start radiation on his neck on Monday. The doctors have a very grave outlook as there has been no other case like Wyatt’s and the cancer doesn’t seem to be responding to the treatments as they would hope. The doctors also told them that he will likely not be cured and even if the cancer went into remission that the probability of recurrence is high. They will continue treatments for as long as possible, but the family needs any and all prayers that anyone can muster up even if you’re not the “praying type”. If it wasn’t before, it is even more clear now that the only healing/cure will come from God and God alone.
Please include Eric, Ashley, and Wyatt in your prayers. He will be 7 months old tomorrow (5/28).
His dad posted this this morning on Facebook:
"Everyone always says how they are amazed how strong Ashley and I are and how hard it must be for us to be going through this. We have had our moments of weakness where we were mad or upset, and this is a difficult journey for us.
But what is hard is having to ingest chemicals designed to kill you every week.
What’s hard is being held down against your will so you can have a “dressing change” all the while screaming out in pain.
The co-worker mentioned in the first line (Eric) is my nephew and my best friend’s son-in-law. The infant is my nephew’s son, my best friend’s grandson, and my great nephew. The infant, Wyatt, turns 7 months old today and we have been battling this since January. We just need some good news for a change. If you are so inclined to, please pray. And hug your children tightly tonight and tell them how much you love them.

Thank you so much, Tom. We are a very close, extended family that has always done things together. That’s one of the hard things about right now. They have been in Houston for about 4 weeks and are not sure how long they will have to stay while the rest of us are here in Lexington. My best friend and his wife did leave for Houston this past Tuesday and will be there for a couple of weeks. They are in need of some support and we have been rotating going out there to help out, but we all just wish that we could be there 24/7 for them. I wish that I could tell you all that they have done, but the company that Eric works for, SEFA, has been phenomenal in their support as has so many others.

That’s gut wrenching to read. Can feel the pain in that Dad’s words and the helplessness as he watches his 7 month old son battle cancer. Really sad. Will definitely keep all of them in our prayers!
We don’t know how lucky we are to have good health and healthy kids. Should say a prayer of thanks every single day.
Having been through surgery and chemo in the past two years I can still only begin to imagine how tough this is on the young man, his family and friends. I was fortunate that I didn’t have radiation. The chemo treatments alone were roughest thing I’ve ever seen. It is very, very hard to watch someone you care about go through something like this. I’ll keep this young man and his family in my prayers. Everyone, please include this young man and his family in your prayers.
Amen Spoonmaster! There are no words I can write to do justice to what this baby and family are going through. Wyatt will continue to be in my prayers.
This is already on the Team Wyatt Facebook page, but here is a little update to what I posted earlier about Wyatt for those that don’t do the Facebook thing. Wyatt had a full body P.E.T. scan this past week and it came back all clear. Even the original tumor location on his face came back clear. We are being cautiously optimistic and celebrating the fact that we finally we get a little bit of good news for a change and this proof that God does hear our prayers. Thank you all who have prayed for Wyatt and our family and we ask that you will continue to do so as he still has a long road ahead of him. He’s still in Houston for a couple more weeks. Thank you all.

Praise the Lord! That’s great news!
We will definitely keep them in our prayers as they continue to battle.
