?Auto PIR has a built-in temperature sensor which self-regulates the passive infrared sensor for more consistent function in all conditions
?Images display date, time, moon phase, temperature and name; GPS Geotag automatically embeds GPS coordinates to make tracking game movement and camera placement simple
?Runs up to one year on one set of batteries

I purchased a trail cam that takes video this year and it did fantastic. Eats batteries a little faster than normal but caught some interesting things on video. Bobcat carrying off a live squirrel it has just caught. Coon walking up to a beaver and touching it on the tail, nine point chasing a smaller buck and lots of woodduck video with sound. Stealth Cam G42 is the model. Just bought a Moutrie that will also shoot video but haven’t placed it in the woods yet.

I never used one before. Just hunted the old fashioned way. Climbed up a tree and waited to see what comes out. Thanks for the reply.

I haven’t heard too many good field reports on the Bushnell cameras. A friend of mine bought 3 and had to return 2 of them. One, the IR wouldn’t work and the other one quit working after the first rain it experienced.

I’ve always been a Cuddeback fan but last year, I purchased several Moultrie cameras and have been VERY pleased with them so far. Picture quality if good, trigger speed is good, battery life has been great.

Been happy with my two Brownings

thanks

King,
I’ve tried a bunch of them and I’ve found the best, longest lasting brand to be wild game innovations. The primos cameras work really well but none of them lasted over 2 seasons. Primos has amazing customer service however. They not only replaced the broken ones but they upgraded them too. Game cameras are a great way to hone in on patterns for a specific area. You’ll love them once you try one out.

Check out covert cameras. I run 5 of them and haven’t had any problems.

good info

need one with addition of the 2.4" color LCD display you can view images and videos in the field, without having to bring your SD memory card back to a computer. Watch the action moments after it happens right from the back of the camera.

Cant help you there on ones with screens. I always found the easiest thing to do was keep an extra card for each camera and then just bring them back to the house and look at them on the computer.

I do the same thing as upstateyakker.

a standard pocket digital camera works just as well and you probably have one lying around. just swap cards and view . I keep one in my 4wheeler bag , works fine.

was not thinking straight.good idea on digital camera.thanks

This website is an awesome resource for trail cams. They don’t care which one you buy, as long as you buy one. Their pricing and service is great and they even extend the warranty for the camera to two years(normally one year more than the manufacturer). A funny note, a couple years ago Cuddeback actually asked them to stop testing their cameras because they so consistently under performed the other companies and had very poor ratings which was information available to anyone that looked at their testing data. You won’t be able to buy Cuddeback from them anymore but can still look at the old tests that included them. I went with the Browning Strike Force this year and have been very happy.
