I got no dog in this fight with my weed eater attached to a large soda can, even at wide open I’d struggle to flip a fat guy on a paddle board.
I’d just be happy if folks at Cypress Gardens would understand that not everyone out there is interested, or able, to deal with massive wakes being thrown in a small river that’s only about 150 feet wide. I had one come past me a few weeks ago, within 50 feet of me, in a rather portly I/O cruizer, and I didn’t have time to react and take the wake head on, and I ate several gallons of water in over the port bow on the second dip.

you’re right on.
Education is key here… If we could just let our ego’s go and do the right thing life would be good. Understand how your boat performs. They’re times I dont see guys anchored and instead of slowing down and throwing a Tsunami at them I hammer down and minimize my wake. Unless you are at idle slowing down to 8-10kts is WAY WORSE! Know where you are fishing/boating and use your brain. This is common knowlege and be respectful to your fellow fisherman. Karma goes a long way…
First, you need to understand that some of these dock owners create their own official looking no wake sign that doesnt mean squat as long as you are more than 50 ft away from them. I remember my dad letting me drive the boat when I was younger. One lesson he instilled was common boating courtesy. If we came up on somebody ishing, we slowed down to idle speed and went past. These days, you do not see that. everybody does what they want to with total disregard to others… It’s sad how bad things have gotten out on the waterway…

Pitviper you are spot on. I grew up fishing on the edisto river. There were a lot of old gents that might let you get by with throwing a wake while they were fishing (once!!!). They would let you know what you did. Second time you might not have a boat.

I think the biggest key is just letting any old goober with enough money to buy as big of a boat as they can get their hands on. AT what point do you just kinda go hey maybe we should let this guy know just what kind of damage he can cause and could potentially be liable for.
