If you have geese in your fields or ponds and want them gone let me know. If you have access to ponds or fields but don’t have the gear let me know. I have a trailer with all the decoys and blinds and will travel.

Got a little while before the season opens, how are you doing this?

I could have killed about 30 of them yesterday with my truck coming home from the store. Not sure why they were in the middle of the road in 95 degree heat. But they were. I stopped the truck and they didn’t even want to move. My 2 dogs were going nuts. They didn’t care about dogs either. Shouldn’t be too hard to hunt. Don’t need much in the way of decoys and equipment. A pistol with rat shot would have worked fine

Got the gear, just don’t have the approval to dispatch. Dang Geese are a menis. Dad counted 100+ the other day. Had one goose raise 11 babies. Honest. Think the mom inherited another gooses babies.
They say 10 Grown Geese will eat as much as one grown cow. Personally I’d say shoot em all. Nasty critters.

And will poop twice as much, and it’s a much nastier poop than a cow’s. They are some nasty critters.

That’s why they need killing.
Coyote decoys work well for a while also

It’s a lot more fun to shoot them.

Just for the record, they aren’t Canadian geese, they are Canada Geese, and they have most likely never seen Canada. But they are a nasty bunch.

goose fishing. Chum them in with bread and use a 4500 spinning reel with a 7’ rod 20 lb line and light drag. Terminal : use as small a weight as possible to cast and a 2/0 hook with a piece of bread bigger than the chum. Watch for the take, and set the hook firmly and then allow the bird to take off, release the bail, and when the goose is at a good altitude flip the bail and fight the goose in the air. Keep a sissors type hedge trimmer handy to dispatch your catch. Best done in treeless areas without power lines or spectators . Please post your catches!

If you have them in a pond, get some leg hold traps! Stake the traps out in the water and sprinkle corn over them! Make sure the traps are staked short so they can’t come above water! Goose will go for the corn and drown! Works well:wink:
