I am going to install a dual battery in my boat. It is a 20ft CC with the standard electronics. Boat is stored in the yard so running bildg pumps when not in use isn’t an issue. So my question is 12 amp or will 8 amp work for my needs?
The only main difference between the two will be the time it takes to recharge the batteries. The 12 would do it faster, but as long as you have a little time between trips, you would be fine with the 8.

If the charger is a 12 or 8 amp per bank, then I agree with the responses. If it is a 12 amp or 8 amp charger then it could be 6 or 4 amps per bank. Some chargers operate where the current is shared between the two banks, hence I don’t think you would be happy with either one if it is shared.
