Awesome video man. That manta ray was real cool. I know i’m going to sound like a dick but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE revive those big reds. Don’t just let your clients throw them back in the water. And you should most def support the tarpons body weight if you are taking them out of the water like that. Your a guide and you should be teaching your clients proper technique and you should know better!
They have a better survival rate when you make them dive head first. If you lower them down slowly and hold them, they dont swim off as well. Plus, I’m not sticking my hands in these waters with while holding onto a red. A lot of these reds I’ve caught twice, and some within 3-4 days apart…they’ll be fine. Thanks for watching.
I have watched a lot of vids where the guys are reviving fish at the side of the boat and I’m waiting to see the one where the guys loses his arm. It’s only a matter of time…

I think about that every time I release one, I’m just waiting for a man in the grey suit to come blow me up. I do revive them every time now, but only because when we released a 38-incher a few weeks ago, he went belly up about 15 seconds later. If we hadn’t noticed, it probably would’ve been curtains for him. Sometimes they take off before you can get them in the water, other times not so much.
