I don’t know if this is considered minor or major, planning to have it refurbished and using it as a spare but don’t know how quickly I need to have that done.
Thinking of leaving as is and fishing this weekend.
That ain’t too bad,go fishing then get a stainless steel one next week.Stop looking for excuses and get out there, trust me, you won’t regret it.You’re not going to live forever.haha
It doesn’t appear that you have messed up the props pitch … BUT the prop edge is quite cut up. The issue after you smooth out the edges will be balance. If the prop is out of balance it will cause the shaft to chew the seals up and tear up the bearings. There is a way to get it close to balanced. Suspend the prop by a line thru the center, attached to a large fender washer to a bullet weight crimped to the line. If one side leans downward , file off more material until everything hangs flat & even. Not perfect - but it will get you close. If you feel vibration , slow the RPM’s down until everything is running smoothly. If you feel vibration , it will be the shaft rubbing the seals & bearings & possibly the gears. The prop can be repaired by TIG welding in filler material, and re-shaping to specs. I would have the rubber hub replaced without question. After your time on the water look at the foot oil . If it looks like a milkshake , you have ruined the rear seals.
