prop nut

I took the prop off to inspect, when i popped the cotter pin out the castle nut was finger loose, when i tighten it back on (finger) the holes don’t line up which is why it was loose in the beginning. So the manual says 35lb pressure and if it doesn’t line up, tighten until it does. I obviously don’t want to mess something up but it would seem that w/o a torque wrench I would just need to finger tighten and then continue with wrench until the next holes line up. Probably a dumb ? but thanks for humoring me!

That is all you have to do. Get it to where it touches, then tighten until the next hole aligns. The idea is to not have it loose where it is walking back and forth, but not German tight either. (Goodentite)

35 ft lbs is a moderate tug on a standard 3/8 ratchet if you need a little guesstimate reference.
