I’ve got an aluminum Mercury prop that’s bent. I ordered a new prop and want to get the old one fixed for a spare. I live in Pineville but have business to do in Summerville next week. Does Sheppard’s do prop repairs. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Not in Summerville, but Skips on Cross County Rd has done a few for me. He did great work.
thanks, I’ve heard good things about him. I just don’t go into Charleston if I don’t have to but certainly will use him if I don’t get anything positive about Sheppards.
X2 on Skips. I’ve used him with aluminum and stainless props over the past few years. He does great work and always satisfied with results. Had an aluminum prop one time that looked like I had thrown it in a blender and he gave it back to me looking brand new, paint and all.
What’s a ballpark estimate on prop repair? Stainless prop with bent ends, nothing major.
I think I paid $60 or $80 for my last stainless repair. He’s been great to work with. I bought a new stainless prop from him, he let me swap it out twice while trying to figure out the best one. After trying the last one I figured out my hull was coming apart and I didn’t need the prop as I was buying a new boat. He gave me a full refund. Stand up guy in my book.
Skip is the man!
Thanks,
Paul

Around $100 to weld on new edges, work out a few dings, cup, balance, and polish.
Prop looked/performed like new.
Don’t mind the dust. lol. It’s a working shop.
quote:$150 2 months ago at skips, one tip had a slight bend and he trued everything, polished, and balanced it.
