propane guy

Who knows one?

My gas logs are lighting off but will not stay on. I need someone to troubleshoot. I’ve tried everything I know to do.

I would be willing to bet you need to clean the thermocoupler. Mine would not stay lit last year. I am too cheap to call someone before at least trying to fix stuff myself. I found a video and cleaned mine and they worked all winter. They re-lit just last week. Here are a couple of DIY sites. It is very easy.

I have a dual fuel heat pump that swaps to propane when temps gets down to 35 degrees and it would light the burner then go out…just had to take a screwdriver and turn valve on the regulator to increase the pressure.

Hope that helps ya.

They sell pills for that.

When you say they light, but do not stay on, do you mean the logs flame up and then go back out or the pilot? The thermocouple really has nothing to do with the flame and more to do with the pilot light. The pilot light heats up the thermocouple which sends a signal to the gas valve letting it know the pilot is lit and its ok to let gas through. If your pilot light does not go out, its not the thermocouple…

A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.

Call the guys at Blue Flame out in Hollywood, they should be able to help.Or if you have Natural Gas,give the provider a call.

I miss the crackle of real wood burning but not hauling in wood and cleaning the fireplace. A ■■■■■ of a switch and we have fire. It will really take the chill off the house if the power goes out too. Good luck Ricky

I tried propane fireplaces once, but didn’t quite understand the concept. Couldn’t split the propane tanks properly. At least, that’s what the doctors told me I was doing when I woke up.
