What is the proper way to hook a mud minnow on a jighead?

run hook under the chin and up thru the roof of the mouth, essentially barbing the mouth shut.

I have also found that hooking them through the tops of the eyes sockets (not through the eyes) works. I used to do that with the toughie minnows when crappie fishing and it works with the MM’s as well.
