Public invited to meeting on Lake Hartwell striped bass management programs

Anderson, SOUTH CAROLINA (June 14, 2019) — Representatives of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GADNR) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will hold a meeting at the Anderson Civic Center to give an overview and status update to anglers on cooperative striped bass fishery management programs undertaken by the three agencies. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend and ask questions.

The meeting and presentations will cover topics such as a telemetry study of striped bass, summer habitat use and population monitoring programs that have been launched recently in response to angler concerns about the lake’s popular striped bass fishery, according to SCDNR Regional Fisheries Coordinator Dan Rankin.
The meeting will be held in the Anderson Civic Center on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. Representatives from the SCDNR, GADNR and USACE will provide updates on the status of joint fisheries monitoring and management programs at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a question and answer period at the end.

The Anderson Civic Center is located at 3027 MLK Jr. Blvd. in Anderson.
