Pull cord snapped on motor

At least the motor started, and I wasn’t stranded. The motor is a '94 mercury 25 hp.

I’m hoping it is a do it yourself job. I have changed one on a lawn mower.

Is it a do it your self job? Any hidden tricks if I start the job?

Thanks for the advice.

Same thing just a little bigger.

Double D.

I’ve done it and it is a DIY job. Just wind the return spring real tight before threading the new rope on. Might want to take the opportunity and change the return spring if it is weak.
