Pulling in to a good looking spot!!

I loved my Cajun anchor. However i had a hell of a time pulling it up.I had to many times use the boat to free it.I decide to get the PP and I am nuts about it.I should have put one on years ago.I gave my cajun to a rookie I took out fishing the first time.He had a boat and so He got it.

Cajun anchor/power pole combo works well for me. PP on stern and Cajun off bow. Holds the boat really still when fishing bait on the bottom.

Power poles are great, but I can’t quite justify $2K to anchor the boat. I use 2 stake out sticks, the manual, poor man’s version of the power pole. Works great and I supply the power:sunglasses: This bracket is made by Wang Anchor. I like their slogan, “Hang out with your Wang out”

i agree that powerpoles have their place for ease of use and as impressive technology.

for now, i fall on the side of practicality and lowest price for function- bamboo shrimp poles, simple cigar-and-peg floats, stained t-shirts on the boat. no different with anchors, for shallow water i’m with the cajun/wang conglomerate (naturally). i have no problem supplying my own power like cracker!

the stealth issue, that’s one that money can’t fix- in fact, i believe there may be a direct and inverse relationship. jimmyadams, thanks for the grins! the offshore shot-put heave is my fave for anchors, especially when only 12 of the 20’ of chain goes out with the huck… audibly alerting nearby craft to the asshattery

^^ Hey PeaPod, more prose above LOL

Just to contribute to the theme of this thread, I submit the MinnKota iPilot. I don’t have one but have a few friends that do. Was on a boat with one the other day and WOW. Anchor? Power Pole? Who needs it? Hit the anchor button on the iPilot and done. Not sure I can swing the $$ for one though. Might be moseying up next to Barba with my homemade stick it anchor…
