MN, not this year. Should have kept people more informed but was just told about this thread today. I took my daughter on a trip to Alaska in August and when I got back some old health problems resurfaced and really kicked my butt. Still not back to normal but hope the docs can fix that soon because I’m really tired of feeling this way. A couple of guys who probably did as much work in it as I did had a lot on their plates as well. Not sick, just really busy! The good news for next year is the pot will be a lot bigger than just the entry fees of the past tournaments. The bad news is it looks like “the drama” is back.
Good old Mark…still stirring the pot. I think there was a thread about the PUOSU back in August or September of 2010 that was “the drama” Russ was talking about. Find it and read it if you want.

Yes you did.
And Jim. Stay out of what you cannot keep up with.

you can call it whatever you want. Have a nice life. Karma huh…
Mark, I’ve had this ailment since 2004, that’s some years before the first puosu, so I hardly think it’s “karma”. Just a little bad judgement by me and the pharmacist. Amazing how sensitive the human body is to variations to a very specific dosage.
Been thinking about the puosu, even talked to a few that were there from the beginning, just to make sure we have it right in light of how you can’t just let it go. So, since the post I referred to above has now vanished from the “Search” engine, let’s recite some history.
PUOSU was started on 6/6/2006 by you because we had too many egos on this site. Tri species tournament, based on length, winner take all, after expenses. No mention of charity. Had a great time fishing and at your house for the weigh-in. You and I sat at your dinner table and wrote checks to the winners.
I think there was a trout and then a trout/sheepshead tournament later that year or early 2007. Didn’t fish either of those.
On July 27, 2007, I came down and we fished up around Paradise planning the 2007 Tournament. That was when you started talking about turning the PUOSU into a charity event for the troubled boys home there in Charleston. That was fine by me but the the other guys fishing that year shot that idea down, not me. Had a great time fishing and at the weigh in, again at your house and again sitting at the table writing checks to the winners. Nothing to charity. Don’t have anything against giving to them, just not part of the PUOSU, which has been a major plank of your ramblings.
You were nowhere to be found in 2008 when people were asking about the PUOSU because you had gone over to PN and found some new friends. So, several of us got together and put it together. We went to an October date because of the extreme heat in 2007. I think that Saturday had a heat index of 107 or so, so we went looking for cooler weather.
We didn’t have one in 2009, which would have been your time to “take it back”…but no competing tournament…must not have been.
We started planni
Never posted anything on pn as it was not the place. Never. You pms have dropped as time erases everything… But they did reflect on what was said. I do not give a rats azz who runs the show but why are you against giving back to those that are in need?I do hope that you are doing well. I just believe in giving back to a certain cause as that was what we set this thing up for. Let those that win get some money. That makes it fun but if you go through liife and not give, it is wrong.
I hope you are well and maybe my karmra comment was wrong. I do hope you will reconsider giving to those in need. Your golf tourney contribution is good but it is not the fishing tourney.
