Had a 3 day weekend so I decided to fish saturday and sunday. I took a buddy saturday that has never fished saltwater and he was excited just to get on the water. Luckily we had a great day and both went home with dinner. Caught a total of 25 fish. Fished the intracoastal and some creeks. Got out around 7am and fished the last hour of rising tide. Caught 2 keeper reds on MM on carolina rigs near some docks. Slowed down at high tide. Fished the grass edges with popping bobbers and live shrimp. Landed a nice 16 inch trout. Put some cut shrimp on the bottom and landed a keeper whiting and my personal best spot. Overcast all day with a bit of wind. Water temp at 84. Clarity was a couple feet despite the wind.
My buddy with his 16 inch trout, which is the first trout he has ever caught.
My buddy with a baby sharpnose. He was excited lol
Dinner
Took the wife out sunday. Lost count of the fish we caught. Fished the rising, high, and the first 2 hours of falling tide. Landed an assortment of species consisting of reds, flounder, blues, trout, spot, and whiting. The wife managed to catch a couple keeper reds and a keeper trout. We were doing really well with live shrimp and MM on carolina rigs near structure. Weather was great all day with overcast skies. Managed to avoid the rain and fill the cooler. The wife doesn’t get to fish often due to school and work and this was her first time on my “new to me” boat. She had a blast even though she complained about the heat lol.
17 inch red. Had to crop out a dock. I don’t want attacked lol.
My wife with her 16.5 inch red.
