PVC holders for shrimp poles?

Looking for some advice/ideas. I’d like to make a set of PVC holders for my shrimp poles. They need to fit in my rod holders on my 20’ CC. Rod holders are angled to the rear of the boat and not straight up and down.

Anyone have pictures of theirs? I’ve seen a few sets on 17 heading towards BB.

Funny that you asked this. I just made my PVC holders today. I have 1” rails so I decided to use SS clamp on rod holders. The holders have a plastic sleeve with a slight taper but luckily I work in a Fabrication shop. I used 1 1/4” sch40 pvc instead of 1” as the 1” had to much play in those rod holders. Check the inside diameter of your rod holder and find the pvc that fits best/tight. Sand away if you need to get it to fit snug (belt sanders are awesome) and cut a notch for the holder bar. I went with a straight design that looks like a football goal post. Used a T, 2- 90 elbows,2- end caps for each holder. You will need to use a 45 degree to a T and so on. I’ll take a picture in the morning and hopefully I can upload it. I’m having problems uploading photos from my iPhone onto here.

Keep in mind that if you take your time and a plumbing torch pvc will bend any way you want it.

Cap one end, fill with sand, cap the other end and use a heat gun. You won’t get “kinks” at the bend.

Steel man I can’t upload a photo still message me your number if you feel like it and I’ll text you the photos

Make sure you bungee them in! You will loose them all in ruff water!

Bungeeeees be fo MOS kritical! Just make sure when you secure them done, you secure them to the boat and not just the holders.

Great tip DF,you old pipe fitter you.I’ve done my share also.LoL

I have a different approach that gets them out of the way. TAke two sections of PVC 8" pipe, about a foot long. On one, the front of the boat one, cut out about 1/3 of the side of the 1 foot section so you’ll have a cradle 1 foot long. On the other 1 foot section, the rear one, put and glue a PVC end cap. Now attach these pieces to your rail on the outboard side of the boat…you can use electrical “U” straps, wire, whatever. Not too tight so you’ll be able to rotate the two pieces into the boat when trailering without the poles. The poles travels down the hiway and across the water just fine in this cradle and they aren’t in your way in the boat. Do bungee them in place while traveling.
