Quadzues Boat?

Has anyone else seen this. This boat is insane. It says Charleston on the back. Be sure to watch the video. Strange top though. Just curious. http://quadzeus.com/index.html

It’s a “paradigm shift”.

At least, that’s what the designer says.

Saw that on display when i was workin the seattle boat show. Pretty cool. I heard they tested it in Charleston by runnin it over a sandbar and then it started takin on water.:open_mouth:

The Cummins/mercruiser test facility is here in Charleston.

It’s docked at Ross Marine on Johns Island

That was a previous test vessel to the QuadZeus Hattaras. The testing was done to ensure that the drive will shear cleanly if struck by a submerged object and not compromise the integrity of the hull. The thing I really like about the quad “smaller engine” concept is that you can troll or cruise at slow speeds on two engines to conserve fuel.

Sure it handles well, but dang its ugly with that wrap.

Seems like it really drinks fuel too. That range at cruise doesn’t seem too great to me for a boat that size?

Being able to do 25.5 knots at 60 GPH in a 60’ 72,000# is very good. As far as going faster than that you’re going to have to feed those horses no matter what you do. Having a almost 43 mph top end is FAST for a production built heavy FRP hull.

It looks like a sporty with a cc T-top on the bridge. Also where are the rod holders for the bridge poles??

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you’ve got an electrical problem.
