This is the first year I’ve used gulps and was curious about the expected life of the flavor ingredients. I’ve found 'em to be tough enough to hold up thru quite a few fish, but how do you know when they’re “used up”? How often are you switching them out? Does putting them back in the bag “juice” do any good to refresh them? How long do they last in the bag - do they go bad after awhile? Thanks in advance for your ■■■■■■■■.

I’ve generally found that the Gulp itself will become worn/cut/chomped in half before the scent wears out. It all depends on how many and what kinds of fish I catch. If I’m fishing any given bait/artificial for an extended period of time and am not catching anything, then I’ll switch up (before the Gulp can possibly get “used up”).
As to “refreshing” the Gulp by putting it back in the bag - I believe the directions say to not return them to the bag once they’ve been used. I’m not sure if it has any effect on the effectiveness of the Gulp, but I personally haven’t tried it.
Thanks for the ■■■■■■■■. I’m fishing mostly for reds, and the gulps seem to hold up better than other grubs I’ve used. I missed the info about not putting 'em back in the bag. I’ve been doing that but guess it’s not a good idea. Wonder if the reason has anything to do with profits?

Hey - could be a profits ploy. They’re able to charge a good amount because they work, so the less “shelf life” they can get, I’m the happier they’d be. Could also be that the salt water has a chemical effect on the “Gulp juice” and/or the plastic itself. Unfortunately, I’m not a chemist…I just play one on TV.
gulps usally tear really easly the best way to tell if it is used up is if it has srunk alot
To simplify things, I just put all my gulp into a small tuperware and when I think the scent pool is running thin, I just add some attractant to it. It not exactly the same scent as gulp but they soak it up the same and has a similar affect.
Thats why they call it fishing, not catching
I find that blues or other toothy fish will nip a gulp off just as quick as any other plastic. The bag says not to return to the pack.(salesman talk) If you have one out of the water it will eventually end up looking like a raisin and will have to be cut off the hook. If you use one some and still looks good they do ok back in the bag for later. Dito fishtracker - even steady fishing they shrink up after a few hours. Time to change then.
