Had about 30 minutes to kill around low tide today, no time for the kayak so I decided to cast a clouser off a dock I have access to but have never really tried. Second cast 16" red. Released 11 more in about 30 minutes then went back this evening when I had a little more time. 3 more reds one stud pushing 30" and one decent trout. I might have to check the dock a little more often.

i wish i could kill thirty minutes like that cayman. were you throwin a clouser in the evening as well?
might as well be dead up here if i cant find that live bottom
Threw a heavier clouser in the evening as the tide was higher and the current a little stronger. Stopped by there today at the same tidal phase and was greeted by muddy water and no fish. That’s fishing.

have no boat or kayak right now. where is this dock?! or do you know of any public place other than the flats ( which dont pick up for a while ) i could try? thanks, new to fishing down here!
Go Cocks
If you shop around you may be able to pick you up a good used yak for a couple of hundred of bucks in the off season. After all these things don’t store well and moma often gets a little pressed for space and cash this time of year so check it out. While you can spend a lot more on a top end new rig all you reallly need to get on fish is something that you can paddle back and forth to the flats until you find the fish. Once your on them, you can always wet wade or use a pair of light weight waders to sight cast. Just make sure that you don’t paddle in very deep water while your waring your waders, besides if you take a spill with your waders on it could be bad news although I know a few folks that wear a good belt around thier waders and use a fairly large high floation life jacket just in case the take a bad spill. Just be careful you can never be too safe out there nobody really plans to have an acident and you know what they say, stuff happens!
Hadn’t seen ya out lately, glad to here your still fishin…In the new house yet?

Mud
hey mud, it has been a while since I passed you in the creek. Yeah I am in the house now which leaves me a little more time to fish. I have been putting in over on Kiawah some and a little around the N. Edisto. Give me a hollar the next time you are coming out this way for a paddle.
