QUICK HELP! Do I Need To Have My B-O-S Notarized?

I’m lookin’ at my title for my boat I’m supposed to be selling tonight, and see that a notary is supposed to do their part, too.

Problem is – it’ll be 7pm @ the time of transaction. Can’t get a notary at that time.

Will this be an issue for them at the DNR when they take the title to get it transfered?

Thanks!

Yep, if it is not notarized it will be sent back

Sea Pro 210cc
Yamaha 200 4 Stroke
Dodge 1500 4x4 HEMI

as i have been to dnr on multiple occasions and been sent back home to get some other sort of proper paperwork, i can tell you that the new owner only needs to have signed (NOT notarized) titles (boat and motor) in order to get a new title.

however, if you do not have the title (like the bank has it), you have to get a notarized bill of sale.

the easiest option is the the former, and you can just write out a bill of sale that you both sign that does not need to be notarized.

am aware that the title says you need a notary, but that is not the case, as i got my last boat titled in Feb. with nothing more than signed titles. no bill of sale and nothing notarized.

I’ve got both titles.

I have also typed up a BOS with hull ID and engine serial.

I’ll just fill out the title, skip the notary’s part, and have two BOS signed. They take one, I take one.

Thanks again!
