Saw plenty of them under the boat while drifting the 150 barge. Couldn’t get them to eat…must have been the numerous 20-30 lb cudas we had hanging around the boat. Played with the cudas for awhile and ended up running south to some live bottom. Ended up keeping about 20 nice BSB and a dozen triggers. Saw bait everywhere on the way out! Great ocean all day!
Im going to tell you a secert they 95 % of the time will not eat when there is cloud or overcast . I can t tell how many times they wouldnt eat because of this but the min it clears up and suns out they would turn on . I target these fish regulary and catch over 100 a season and it seem to be this way . ps keep cobia rode always ready they like to come in and swim in on the action when there feeding .
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky yesterday…

I went out to R-8 a couple of weeks ago and hoped to find some jelly balls on the way out. Never saw a single one. Were they there for your trip?
