I’m sure this is a simple question but I have searched all over and I see widely varying numbers on the max gph of my engine. According to the math, I should be at a max of 15gph but I just want to confirm.

Carolina Skiff J14, 25 Merc & Hydra-Sports 1800cc, 150 Johnson
I have used one of those on a Yamaha 150. Remember, the Coast Guard sez to ONLY mount that type filter in the outboard motor well. I think they are worried about the bowl breaking and leaking gas in the bilge.
we would never mount that filter for use on a 150
use the 3213 on anything 115 and over
will it work, definitely, will it work after a few months and some restriction???
Dunno if it will help you out but you can use the Sierra stainless bracket with the Racor 3213 filters and bowl. I’ve used them for years and they stand up to the salt and offshore use. I don’t typically love Sierra products but the bracket they make is legit.
If you are interested they sell them at West, Amazon, etc.

Filters are meant to be changed.
“The clogged up filter causing engine problems” thing makes me laugh…
I guess people like to run things until they blow up or quit.
Speaking of,
I got tired of buying 90 dollar mid pressure yamagucci (Yamaha) filters (2 micron) every year when I had an HPDI, so I started using a 2 micron racor ahead of everything instead. Install a vacuum gauge in one of the spare inlets on your separator mount if you want to be cheap and change the filter only when needed. You won’t see full vacuum unless you’re watching the gauge at WOT though. You can compare the vacuum at 1500RPM’s easily though, and you’ll know when the filter’s done its job and collected enough particles to where it needs replacement by noting a higher vacuum on the gauge vs when the filter was new.
