Went gigging last night on the Stono and floated some good looking water but only saw 2 very small flounder. My question is- With all this rain we have had, is the salinity affected possibly causing the fish to move further towards the inlets and ocean?
I am hoping there is a valid reason for my fishing failures besides my angling incompetence haha
Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rick
good question, not sure if the solidity of the water would push them back…haha…i said solidity; salinity or lack of
I’vve always been told that it is good to fish before a storm not after. This is because the Shrimp don’t like the freshwater that the rain adds so the run offshore and the fish feed on them as they leave but they follow them out. I’m not sure of the truth to that but that is what people have told me.
Three-fourths of the Earth’s surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
