Ramp closings

was horrible there today//i dumped daddy over for our run and then had to go park “inland” and hoof it back. As i was backing down some guy says…must be one of “the locals”…they think they own everything…sorry…but I owned that ramp that he was waiting on just a few minutes longer than it should have taken…and gave him a smile and wave as I pulled away…another guy there told him he better watch himself 'cause “that local” looked like she could kick his butt  and laughed… he had been standing by his truck(not near or lined up in front of the ramp). yabbing and making no effort to move so after waiting a few minutes i pulled past…funny thing is…when i pulled out another truck pulled past him too. 9 boats ahead of us to pull out

We put in there at 0645 to head out for some bottom fishing. Parked in the lot with no issues. There were several open spots then. It was full when we pulled the boatout. Counted 23 parked trailersin the lot.

It was full by 7:15

Maybe S.C. should follow Wisconsin’s lead.

Wisconsin Enforces Tenth Amendment, Reopens Parks

In an effort to maximize the pain of the government shutdown, the National Park Service (NPS) ordered the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to shut down a host of popular parks. However, the DNR decided to enforce its Tenth Amendment rights instead.

The DNR rejected the NPS? request on the ground that a majority of the funding for the parks comes from its own coffers. It issued a statement noting that all state parks, trails and other recreational properties will remain open.

And, it removed barricades from a boat launch along the Mississippi River that was shut down by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, despite it being on federal land. The DNR claims it has the authority to operate the launch under a 1961 agreement with the federal government.

In a sign of just how easily states can do without federal assistance, Wisconsin plans to operate its parks entirely with its own funds. The sky has not fallen in The Badger State without Uncle Sam holding its hand.

Wisconsin?s efforts to protect its 10th Amendment rights by reopening parks it largely funds are a reminder of a growing effort by states to take back their freedoms.

This thread is pretty funny for a “low information” voter like me. Reminds me of this: http://politix.topix.com/homepage/8271-republican-berates-park-ranger-for-doing-her-job

And the Gestapo & SS were just going their jobs too, and look where that ended up! to pick and choose to only punish those who disagree is just wrong.
