Ramp closings

I case you didn’t know…buck hall, moores and other government ramps are closed due to our wonderful government shutdown!. Daddy said mccl. Was packed today due to this with no parking available even outside of it. I called and verified this with SCDR. Even the campers at buckhall had to leave:frowning_face:

Dang, we need to build a ramp somewhere up along the ICW.

“Apathy is the Glove in Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”.

Bolt cutters…

Why would the shutdown cause the ramp to close?
It’s a slab of concrete trailing off into the water. It works 24-7 with no supervision and no attendants.
Whoever made the decision to “close” the ramp needs a good a$$ whoopin.

It is closed so you will call your elected officials and ask them to kiss obambas ass.

That makes no sence. But it is our government so it makes perfect sence.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

What am I missing? This is a SC DNR facility. Isn’t that state, not federal government?

Socialism still stinks… vote wisely.

I’m betting the ramps that were closed were built with federal matching grant money. Even so, by who’s authority was it to close these ramps that you and I paid for?
Did the County execute the order to close, or was it the State. Surely the Feds didn’t send someone out to secure the ramp.
What a crock… that’s no different than closing the Federal highways. Tax payers money paid the bill, it’s not costing anything for people to use the facility for it’s intended purpose.
Just more Government stupidity.

Those 2 ramps are on Federal government land.

county park operated ramps will be open for sure… believe me, I’ve still been working! :stuck_out_tongue:

“mr keys”

so does this mean that there will be no people to inspect our fish boxes on the way back in?

DNR is still working. Heard they had armed guards at. Buck hall today …really

I hope your kidding. Please tell me we didn’t shut down a ramp to save money and then spend more money to hire people to gaurd it.

Government at it’s best, shut something down so no one can use it then pay some guys to keep people out. We are getting what we voted and pay for.

Ttkarl. Yep…it’s true…and commercial fisherman have no where to launch up that area either…even. N government workers suffer…oh but wait.we ALL work for the government don’t we?..so why don’t they "work "for us?

It is more redunkulous that one could make up. Apparently, the US Government believes it can close THE OCEAN!!!

We are sheeple. We will sit and let this happen. Each next iteration of this nonsense will push a little further. Vote 'em out!!!

Charter guides received a message from the National Park Service this week informing them that they are not permitted to take clients fishing in Florida Bay until the feds get back to work. That means that more than 1,100 square miles of prime fishing is off limits between the southern tip of the mainland to the Keys until further notice.

The closing affects not only fishing guides, but anyone with a license to conduct business in the park, including tour operators and paddling guides ? anyone with a Commercial Use Authorization permit, said Dan Kimball, superintendent of Everglades and Dry Tortugas national parks.

Biscayne National Park is also off limits. Enforcement rangers will be on duty, Kimball said.
