Rank These Sheepshead Baits?

Assuming they are all available, I vote:
barnacles 1
clams 2
oysters 4
fiddlers 3
live shrimp 5
What’s your rankings?

I’ve never caught them on anything but fiddlers but stretch, moons and them boys swear by oysters and clams…

There’s fiddlers, and then all that other stuff … [:0]

fiddlers should be at the top of that list

Stupid question, how do you put a barnacle on a hook? Only axing as I have never fished for sheeps.

Wrap with a small rubber band, and, barnacles are usually tangled up with some green mossy stuff that holds the hook real good. Some people even think that the sheeps eat that green stuff, too, they say they have found it in their stomachs. I think sometimes the green stuff just gets in the way.

I have had good luck w/ slightly microwaved saltwater muscles, as well as oysters/clams etc…
Gets them just tough enough to stay on the hook well.

Mussels on the hook, oysters/barnacles for chum. If you think fiddlers are better, then you haven’t given mussels a chance.

nice graphic…I have seen some monster barnacles…bigger the bait bigger the fish right?

thanks, responders, some good stuff!
and, on barnacles, it’s good to crack them, too.

Mollusks rule sheepshead. And they DO eat the grass. No doubt about it.
